Our Mission

We exist to help people set their hope in God and engage in the mission of God.

We don’t determine our mission—God has given it to us in his word. The church exists because there is a mission; it’s not the other way around.

Our mission explained:

We exist to help people...

Modeling our lives after Christ, we want to take the humble posture of a servant, helping people set their hope in God.

“For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” Mark 10:45

...to set their hope in God

We want to strive, with all of our being, to help people see that Jesus is their only true hope in this life and the life to come. That He is the only one who can truly satisfy the deepest longing of our souls.

“Why are you cast down, O my soul, and why are you in turmoil within me? Hope in God; for I shall again praise him, my salvation and my God.” Psalm 42:5

...and engage in the mission of God.

Disciples make disciples, and we want to equip people to engage in the mission God is calling each of us to. Do what you do well for the glory of God and do it somewhere strategic for the mission of God.

“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:19-20

Our Vision

This is what we are currently working towards. We hope and pray that in 2030, this can be said of Calvary.

We are a growing family united together by the gospel, where people from every age and background are warmly welcomed and connected to Jesus.

Believing that the gospel changes us from the inside out, we’re cultivating a community where no one walks alone—we joyfully bear each other’s burdens, prioritize the needs of others, and point each other to the help and hope God provides.

Trusting God to do more among us than we could ever imagine, we’re seeing Jesus change lives and celebrating 100 baptisms a year.

As we multiply disciples and live on mission, we leverage everything to make Jesus known: helping to plant 50 North American and international churches, sending out 25 missionaries, and raising up the next generation of church leaders.

For the glory of God and the good of all people, we are prayerfully following Jesus into this better future and giving ourselves to His greater mission so that Calvary would be a place of belonging and hope for generations to come.

What We Value

These core convictions are we want to embody as a church and want to live out as followers of Jesus. These are not an exhaustive list of all that we find important, but these are the ones, in this season of Calvary, that we will be focusing on. Click the icons to view each of the values.

THE GOSPEL

The gospel changes everything and is good news for everyone. We put the gospel front and center—it gives us our mission and our message.

BELONGING

God designed us for relationships where we are deeply known and loved. We are a family of real people with real problems learning to hope in God together.

DIVERSITY

God created all people in his image and his kingdom reflects the diversity of his creation. We display the beauty of God’s kingdom by uniting together as people being changed by the gospel.

DEPTH

We never grow beyond the gospel; we just grow deeper in it—so there is always a next step. With God’s word as our guide, we seek the Spirit’s transforming power to make us more like Jesus.

GENEROSITY

God loves generously; therefore, we live generously. We steward all of God’s gifts for God’s glory and the good of others.

SENDING

God saves us to send us—He accomplishes his purposes through his people. We live on mission every day, making disciples at home, in our communities, and around the world.
