Impact Planning Team
The task for the Impact Planning Team (IPT) is to create a comprehensive master plan that strategically aligns our facilities with our mission and values. This involves exploring all potential options to enhance the spread of the gospel, collaborating closely with staff and ministries to evaluate current facility usage, identifying pressure points, and anticipating future needs. To ensure a well-rounded approach, an architectural/design firm will be engaged as a partner in the master planning process. The emphasis will be on achieving excellence rather than extravagance, ensuring that our facilities effectively support our mission and uphold our values.

FAQ’s
What is a master plan?
A master plan is a strategic plan that outlines a vision and framework for the future development of a particular area or project. This includes timelines, phasing plans, and funding strategies for carrying out the master plan over time.
Why do we need to create a master plan?
At the beginning of 2023, we cast a new mission and vision that we’re praying would be true of us by the year 2030. We’re asking God to make us a growing family that’s united together by the gospel, where people from every age and background are warmly welcomed and connected to Jesus. Over the last 5 years, we have seen tremendous growth at Calvary. Within the last year, we’ve seen God at work with a 17% increase in worship attendance, 220 new members, and 95 baptisms. The Day School is at 98% capacity for the 2024-2025 school year, and both church and school collectively have an ongoing need for more small, medium, and large meeting spaces. We realize that with this clear purpose and growth comes the need for spaces to better fulfill our desire to raise up the next generation of leaders and become a place of belonging and hope for generations to come.
Aren’t our facilities just fine the way they are?
With a total of 438,657 square feet across 3 campuses, and buildings spanning 24-112 years in age, reactive maintenance is constant to keep our facilities functioning effectively and safely. By addressing maintenance needs proactively and systematically, we can enhance the longevity of our facilities and position us for continued mission fulfillment.
What is the status of the Peace Haven worship center?
The structural beam in the worship center has been temporarily secured and we are working with SKA Consulting Engineers to develop the permanent fix. Once plans are in place we will be solidifying a contractor to help us complete the project. Along with this, we have asked SKA to do a holistic structural inspection of the worship center.
How will priorities be determined?
Beginning in October, the Impact Planning Team’s primary efforts were focused on gathering information from staff in Discipleship, Worship and Arts, Missions, Facilities, West Campus, and the Day School on the current state and use of all of Calvary’s spaces, and to understand the current vision for various ministry areas of the Church for the next 5 to 10 years. We’ve gathered a holistic picture of Calvary straight from those most knowledgeable. These meetings have been very beneficial to the team to understand how the church’s spaces are supporting Calvary’s Mission, Vision, and Values, and how can our spaces best support Calvary’s efforts to help people set their hope in God and engage in the mission of God. The second phase of our efforts involved identifying priorities across the ministry areas and gathering information and feedback from the congregation. Identified needs have been objectively ranked based on criteria such as stewardship, discipleship, and growth potential. Moving forward, the selected architect team will help us identify the best project sequencing.
When will we have drawings from an architect?
We do not have a firm date but targeting the first half of 2025. Beginning in September, we will be working with the architect to develop master plans to address the different needs and opportunities identified.
