When we think of the Book of Jonah, we are immediately transported to a man and a large fish. But the Book of Jonah is so much more than a fish story. We see in this book a rebellious prophet that God calls to go and preach repentance to his enemies. We see Jonah trying to run from that call and how God, even in Jonah’s rebellion, relentlessly pours out his mercy on Jonah and others. The Book of Jonah is truly a mirror for us to hold up to ourselves and to see the Jonah that is in all of us and how God’s relentless mercy is for us…everyday.
