SUPPORT GROUPS
Support Groups are small, supportive environments where people can focus on overcoming specific life challenges. In a safe and confidential setting, participants gain biblical insight, practical tools, and meaningful relationships that foster growth and healing.
Group offerings vary throughout the year, and not all groups meet every week. See below for a list of Support Groups that are currently meeting.

What are Support Groups?
Depending on the particular topic, a Support Group may be described in one of these ways:
- Recovery: Groups for those struggling with a life-dominating sin, addiction, or a traumatic life event
- Support: Groups that provide encouragement and support during a period of suffering or hardship
- Process: Groups that help participants process problematic emotions or multiple life stressors
- Educational: Groups that provide information and/or resources about a specific life issue
Sometimes focused groups like recovery or support groups can be criticized for centering an individual’s identity in their struggle. We want to provide the benefits of peer support, subject-specific groups while emphasizing that our identity is not found in an issue but in an individual: the person of Christ. Rather than making an issue the centerpiece of our Support Groups, we strive to make the gospel of Christ the core of all our groups.
What are the guiding values of our Support Groups?
Calvary’s Care Groups have 7 core values which guide each group:
Bible-Based & Gospel-Centered
Lasting change comes through the power of the Gospel and the truth of God’s Word, lived out in authentic, loving relationships.
Recognizing Sin & Suffering
We acknowledge the difference between sin and suffering, offering biblical care that thoughtfully addresses both.
Honesty & Transparency
Healing begins with honesty. Our groups foster openness in a safe, grace-filled environment..
Confidentiality
Support Groups are a place of trust. What’s shared in the group stays in the group.
Identity in Christ
We don’t let struggles define us. We help one another live from our identity as deeply loved children of God.
Discipleship with Purpose
Each group blends biblical teaching, accountability, and a guided process for real-life transformation.
Ongoing Growth
Support Groups are a step in the journey, helping people move toward continued growth in broader discipleship communities.
How can I join a Support Group?
Support Groups meet at various times and locations. Most can be joined simply by showing up for the next scheduled meeting; some require pre-approval by the Support Group leader. Use our Group Finder below to view information on each Support Group that is currently meeting and connect with the leader regarding any questions you might have.
